There are 2 main ways of getting to Porto Heli. You can drive there or fly to Athens airport. The flying time from London is about 4hrs. There are several flights a day from the UK and if you book in advance for a quiet time of year then the costs can be very low. On arrival at Athens airport you can either hire a car there and drive yourself to Porto Heli. Or you can take the express tram service to Piraeus and catch one of the regular Hydrofoil services to Porto Heli which takes about 3-4hrs
You can of course make your own arrangements, but if you want us to meet you at Athens airport and drive you to Porto Heli we will gladly do so. (Itís a lovely journey) Just contribute something towards the petrol (about 100 euros). We can also help you with your hotel booking with any of several hotels in Port Heli and help you hire a car if you wish.
If you fancy driving from the UK, it takes about 3 days and can be a very enjoyable journey. We have made this trip numerous times and can help a lot with advice on which routes to take, places to stay for your overnight stops and so on. The main route we use is via Ancona and take the overnight ferry to Patras. Itís then a 3-4hr drive to Porto Heli. Overall from the London area itís approx 1200 miles.
It is obviously important to visit the area, see the properties and make a reconnaissance visit just to get to know how everything generally works. We believe itís essential. After all you could be making a very important purchase and you need to feel comfortable that itís right for you.
